I love this guy's spirit. If you need a little smile and dance in your afternoon, watch this video from their Colbert Report appearance. I love how Batiste and his band foster community and connection in their performance.
I've had the pleasure of getting to know Ariel Hyatt through Creative Live's Social Media Bootcamp, and she is fantastic. Really down to earth, and someone I immediately connected with. Check her out via Creative Live, or her website. One of the things she talks about is being a thought leader in your field (e.g. Steve Jobs in the world of business, Oprah in the world of media, or Gloria Steinem in the world of political activism). What I find compelling is that Ariel encourages all of us to be thought leaders in our own ways - we don't need to be world-famous billionaires to have an impact. What is your field of thought leadership? What is your niche? What gets your blood pumping that you want to share with the world?
Creative Live is a very cool online arena for classes and workshops - check it out to find coursework that interests you. You can watch live classes for free, and you have the opportunity to purchase access to recorded classes if you'd like to watch them on your own schedule. In the class I'm currently watching (Social Media Bootcamp), the instructors suggest taking a photo of your Creative Live classroom (e.g. where you are in the physical world while you participate in the virtual/online world). So here I am, in my own personal classroom. (Background sounds of dog snoring not included.)
