I love this place. We could all benefit by embracing these seniors' sense of creative adventure and openness to learning. Read this great LA Times article and enjoy!
This commercial aired during the Oscars on Sunday, and while I'm a sucker for all Apple ads, this one did not disappoint. I love Scorsese's final phrase: "Let the learning continue." This quote is worth soaking in, too: I’m not talking about ‘following your dream,’ either. I never liked the inspirational value of that phrase. Dreaming is a way of trivializing the process, the obsession that carries you through the failure as well as the successes - which could be harder to get through. Watch the ad here: Brandon, Django and I have moved to Los Angeles, and Citizen Workshops has its first official address! Right now everything is happening in my home office, where I even have a posted business license (gah!). We found a cute North Hollywood bungalow, and it's great to be so close to the NoHo arts district, the NoHo Metro stop, and Target (I think I went twice a day while we were moving in). It was sad to say goodbye to Northern California, but we're excited about this new chapter. If you're in Southern California, please drop me a line! It's been ten years since I've lived in the City of Angels, and I could use as many pointers, refreshers, and friendly faces as I can get. And calling all canines - Django would like to extend an open invitation to come play in his new yard.
